Grant Description
Description:
This agreement provides funding under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to Student Transportation of America, Inc. to replace existing school buses with zero emission school buses.
Activities:
The activities include replacing 32 diesel school buses with 32 Class 7 zero emission school buses and installing alternating current and direct current fast charging infrastructure. The new school buses will serve Bloom Township High Schools District #206, Milwaukee School District, Evanston/Skokie School District #65, and Consolidated High School District #230.
Subrecipient:
No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes:
The expected outcomes include reduction in harmful emissions along school bus routes, improvement of the air quality for the school children riding the buses and for the communities in which the buses operate. By implementing all-electric buses in a fleet, communities will have cleaner, safer air in areas that are most at-risk. There will be a strict anti-idling policy and speaking engagements including school buses and electric vehicle events and shows.
The direct beneficiaries include residents of these communities and school children in the districts.
