Grant Description
Description: The City of Dover, New Hampshire is replacing existing cast iron water mains within a 6,000-foot section stretching from the 4-million-gallon Garrison Hill water storage tank to Broadway.

The replacement includes a critical water main, located on Central Avenue.

This section of water line is a critical artery that serves water and fire suppression to the southern two-thirds of the City of Dover, including the Central Business District (CBD).

This replacement is a necessity to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and capacity of Dover's municipal water system.

Activities: The City of Dover, New Hampshire is replacing existing cast iron water mains within a 6,000-foot section stretching from the 4-million-gallon Garrison Hill water storage tank to Broadway.

Phase 1 of the replacement project will upgrade the existing cast iron water main from the Garrison Hill water storage tank, which will be rehabilitated in 2025, down Abbey Sawyer Memorial Highway, south on Central Avenue, and under Broadway.

Inoperable valves in this area will also be replaced with additional valves.

Subsequent phases 2 and 3 will continue the improvements from Broadway (the end of Phase 1) to Silver Street.

Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.

Outcomes: Anticipated deliverables include installation (replacement) of cast iron water main lines to provide drinking water and fire suppression for residents of Dover, New Hampshire.
