Background
The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the U.S. Department of State is dedicated to keeping Americans safe by countering crime, illegal drugs, and instability abroad. Grant Details
The project will involve forming youth coalitions that engage young people aged 12 to 24 in drug prevention strategies. Key tasks include:
1) Establishing at least 10 youth coalitions across targeted regions;
2) Training youth leaders in advocacy and project management;
3) Collaborating with local stakeholders to create supportive environments for drug use prevention;
4) Conducting community assessments to identify substance use issues;
5) Organizing peer-led forums and outreach events;
6) Developing a robust monitoring and evaluation plan to track engagement and outcomes.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based non-profit organizations, educational institutions, foreign non-profits, and foreign educational institutions. Applicants must have a unique entity identifier (UEI) and be registered on SAM.gov. Organizations can submit only one proposal but may form a consortium with a designated lead applicant.

Period of Performance
The initial project implementation length is set for 36 months, starting from March 2025.

Grant Value
The total funding available for this grant is $700,000, with individual awards ranging from $500,000 to $700,000.

Place of Performance
The project will be implemented in at least 10 communities across Peru's coastal, Andean, and Amazonian regions.
