USAID intends to make an award to the applicant(s) who best meets the objectives of this funding opportunity based on the merit review criteria described in this NOFO subject to a risk assessment.

Background
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the USAID’s Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) Activity. The activity aims to empower adolescents to reach their full capacity by choosing and practicing healthy reproductive behaviors, including delaying marriage, delaying first pregnancy, healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy, seeking FP/RH services, use of contraceptives, prevention of HIV/AIDS, prevention and treatment of other STIs, menstrual health, prevention and management of gender-based violence.

Grant Details
The ARH Activity will prioritize “older” adolescents aged 15-19 for activities related to delivery of FP services and for other activities, all adolescents (aged 10-19) should be considered a priority group. The activity will support a range of healthy reproductive behaviors including delaying marriage, delaying first pregnancy, healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy, seeking FP/RH services, use of contraceptives, prevention of HIV/AIDS, prevention and treatment of other STIs, menstrual hygiene, prevention and management of gender-based violence.

The activity will provide accurate FP/RH information and behavior change support to adolescents; improve availability and accessibility of quality FP/RH services for adolescents; institutionalize successful data-driven approaches and mechanisms addressing adolescent reproductive health through the public and private sectors.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for award, the applicant must provide all information as required in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and meet eligibility standards in Section C of this NOFO. Eligible applicants include qualified entities capable of implementing the ARH Activity.

Period of Performance
The ARH Activity is a five-year initiative in Nepal.

Place of Performance
The ARH Activity will be implemented in selected municipalities in Nepal.
