USAID Promoting Access to Improved Learning Pre-Primary Education in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Background
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is the largest bilateral donor to education in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). USAID aims to break the cycle of conflict by providing safe learning spaces, catch-up programs, tutoring, and accelerated learning services to over 350,000 children in conflict-affected and neglected zones.

This Request for Information (RFI) seeks industry comments to develop a possible activity that promotes access to improved learning in pre-primary education in DRC.

Grant Details
USAID/DRC is soliciting responses to questions regarding pre-primary education in DRC. The RFI includes two sections:

- Attachment 1 contains questions for industry and partner feedback.
- Attachment 2 is an expression of interest response form.

Respondents are encouraged to provide concise responses that will inform activity planning. Key areas of inquiry include identifying main institutions involved in pre-primary education, barriers to access, opportunities for system strengthening, marginalized populations, effective strategies for rural engagement, community involvement in curriculum development, and coordination with other sectors.

Eligibility Requirements
Expressions of interest are welcomed from both international and local entities. A local entity is defined as one that is legally organized under DRC laws, has its principal place of business or operations in DRC, is majority-owned by citizens or lawful permanent residents of DRC, and is managed by a governing body with a majority of citizens or lawful permanent residents.

Period of Performance
The RFI was issued on September 5, 2024, with a closing date for responses on September 26, 2024.
