The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the USAID Acting on Climate Change Together program. Eligibility for this award is not restricted.

USAID intends to make an award to the applicant(s) who best meets the objectives of this funding opportunity based on the merit review criteria described in this NOFO subject to a risk assessment. Background
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the USAID Acting on Climate Change Together program. This funding opportunity aims to address the adverse impacts of climate-related disasters on education, particularly for children with disabilities in Zambia, which is highly vulnerable to climate-induced disasters.

The program aligns with USAID's mission to promote sustainable development and resilience against climate change.

Grant Details
The primary tasks under this grant include:
1) Developing and implementing disability-inclusive school disaster risk mitigation plans, ensuring all targeted schools have such plans linked to community Local Adaptation Plans;
2) Increasing enrollment and participation of children with disabilities in schools;
3) Enhancing knowledge and climate action among children, including those with disabilities through the establishment of inclusive environmental clubs and student-led climate change initiatives.

The program will also involve small-scale construction of disability-accessible infrastructure and provision of assistive devices.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility for this award is not restricted. USAID welcomes applications from organizations that have not previously received financial assistance from USAID, including faith-based organizations.

Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance is three years, starting on or about February 15, 2025.

Grant Value
$3,400,000 in total USAID funding over a three-year period, with a mandatory minimum recipient cost share of $340,000.

Place of Performance
The activity will operate in 26 special schools and schools with special units in Western Province and one special school and one school with a special unit in the Lusaka city area.
