The U.S. Embassy's Public Affairs Section (PAS) in Jakarta invites proposals for projects that further and support the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the U.S. through educational, cultural, informational, and media programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include an American cultural or media-related element, or a connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.

Examples of small grants projects include but are not limited to:

Educational seminars, and expert speaker programs;

Professional and academic exchanges and projects;

Professional development workshops and training;

Artistic and cultural workshops, joint performances, and exhibitions; and

Cultural heritage conservation and preservation projects.

Background
The U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section (PAS) in Jakarta is pleased to announce the availability of funding through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. The purpose of the small grants is to further and support the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the U.S. through educational, cultural, informational, and media programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation.

The program themes may include activities promoting strategic partnership, security and defense awareness, prosperity, trade, investment activities, technology and innovation support, education and human capacity promotion, post-pandemic recovery support, environmental issues and climate crisis awareness, combating disinformation activities, as well as diversity and inclusivity promotion.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based and Indonesia-based non-profit organizations/nongovernment organizations; U.S.-based and Indonesia-based public non-profit private or state institutions of higher education; public international organizations/public entity. For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply. Individual applicants are not eligible to apply.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for the grant is up to 12 months.

Grant Value
The award amount ranges from $30,000 to $100,000 with an anticipated time to award of 3-8 months pending availability of funds.

Place of Performance
The program should primarily take place in Indonesia or online (virtual programming) or a combination of both.
