Purpose of Small Grants:

The U.S. Embassy's Public Affairs Section (PAS) in Jakarta invites proposals for projects that further and support the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the U.S. through educational, cultural, informational, and media programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include an American cultural or media-related element, or a connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.

Examples of small grants projects include but are not limited to:

Educational seminars, and expert speaker programs;

Professional and academic exchanges and projects;

Professional development workshops and training;

Artistic and cultural workshops, joint performances, and exhibitions; and

Cultural heritage conservation and preservation projects.

Grant Details
The U.S. Embassy Jakarta Public Affairs Section (PAS) is offering funding through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program to support projects that promote the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the U.S. The program aims to fund projects that include an American cultural or media-related element, or a connection with American experts, organizations, or institutions in specific fields that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. The program themes may include activities promoting U.S.-Indonesia strategic partnership, security and defense cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, prosperity, trade, investment, technology and innovation cooperation, education partnerships, environmental issues and climate crisis awareness, combating disinformation, and promoting diversity and inclusivity. The program is open to U.S.-based and Indonesia-based non-profit organizations/NGOs, public/non-profit/private/state institutions of higher education, and public international organizations/public entities.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based and Indonesia-based non-profit organizations/NGOs, public/non-profit/private/state institutions of higher education, and public international organizations/public entities. For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply. Cost sharing is not required. Applicants must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number issued via www.SAM.gov as well as a valid registration on www.SAM.gov.

Period of Performance
Up to 12 months with projects starting no sooner than March 1, 2024 and no later than December 31, 2024.

$30,000 - $100,000

Place of Performance
The program should be primarily for Indonesians but may include Americans as well. Programs may have a regional focus looking at Indonesia in the context of ASEAN or the Indo-Pacific.
