The U.S. Embassy Dakar Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State announces a Request for Statements of Interest (RSOI) from organizations interested in applying for funding for program proposals that strengthen cultural ties between the United States and Senegal or between the United States and Guinea-Bissau through cultural, educational, capacity building and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation.

Grant Details
The U.S. Embassy Dakar PDS is inviting organizations to submit Statements of Interest (SOI) applications outlining program concepts that reflect the goal of strengthening cultural ties. All programs must include an American cultural element or connection with American experts, organizations, or institutions in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. The grant program includes priority areas such as advancing democratic values, promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education, increasing opportunities for youth, promoting awareness of the global climate crisis, and promoting women’s empowerment and economic inclusion.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include registered not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations with programming experience; individuals; non-profit or governmental educational institutions; and governmental institutions. For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply. Cost sharing is not required. Applicants are only allowed to submit one proposal per organization.

Period of Performance
The length of the performance period is 3 to 12 months, with anticipated programs starting between May 31, 2024, and December 31, 2024. All awards must be finalized prior to September 30, 2024.

Grant Value
$200,000 is available for multiple awards ranging from a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $40,000.
