The U.S. Embassy in BURKINA FASO of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) Program. This is an Annual Program Statement, outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding. Please carefully follow all instructions below.

Funding Instrument Type: Grant, fixed amount award (FAA), or cooperative agreement. Cooperative agreements and some FAAs are different from grants in that bureau/embassy staff are more actively involved in the grant implementation ( Substantial Involvement ).

Program Performance Period: Proposed projects should be completed in a year or less.

Background
The U.S. Embassy in Burkina Faso, part of the U.S. Department of State, is announcing funding availability through its Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) Program. This Annual Program Statement outlines the funding priorities, strategic themes, and procedures for submitting requests for funding.

The goal is to strengthen cultural ties between the U.S. and Burkina Faso through various programs that highlight shared values and promote bilateral cooperation.

Grant Details
Proposals are invited for programs that include an American cultural element or connection with American experts or organizations. Examples of eligible programs include academic lectures, artistic workshops, cultural heritage conservation, civic education projects, youth community service projects, and initiatives aimed at maintaining contacts with alumni of U.S. exchange programs.

Priority areas include climate change mitigation, democracy promotion, economic prosperity, countering disinformation, and enhancing understanding of diversity and inclusion.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include registered not-for-profit organizations (including NGOs), public and private educational institutions, individuals, public international organizations, and governmental institutions.

All proposals must focus on engaging Burkinabe in Burkina Faso and demonstrate inclusivity based on gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability. Applicants must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) issued via SAM.gov.

Period of Performance
Proposed projects should be completed within one year or less from the anticipated program start date of March 30, 2025.

Grant Value
The total available funding for this grant opportunity is $300,000. Individual awards may range from a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $25,000. Approximately 15 awards are anticipated depending on the amounts requested.

Place of Performance
All regions in Burkina Faso are eligible for program implementation.
