U.S. Consulate Lagos Annual Program Statement (APS)

Background
The U.S. Consulate Lagos Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This is an Annual Program Statement, outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding.

Grant Details
PDS Lagos invites proposals for programs that strengthen cultural ties between the U.S. and Nigeria through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. Examples of programs include academic and professional lectures, exchanges and speaker programs, artistic and cultural workshops, leadership, youth, and sports programs, initiatives supporting democratic values, environmental and climate change issues, entrepreneurship and innovation, cultural preservation, and education focusing on public secondary schools.

Eligibility Requirements
The announcement is an open competition for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are either registered in Nigeria or the United States. Priority program areas include women and girls’ empowerment, democracy promotion, environmental issues, entrepreneurship, cultural preservation, and education. For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply.

Period of Performance
Length of performance period: 12 months or less.
Anticipated program start date: June 2024.

Grant Value
Total available funding: $450,000.
Award amounts may range from a minimum of $15,000 to a maximum of $30,000.

Place of Performance
The grant will be implemented in the U.S. Consulate’s area of responsibilities: Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi,
Edo,
Ekiti,
Enugu,
Imo,
Lagos,
Ogun,
Ondo,
Osun,
Oyo,
and Rivers states.
