Description

PAS Hong Kong and Macau invites proposals for programs that strengthen cultural ties between the United States and Hong Kong and the United States and Macau through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include a U.S. element or connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives and build partnerships.

Background
The U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong & Macau Public Affairs Section (PAS) is accepting proposals for the Grants Program to strengthen cultural ties between the United States and Hong Kong and the United States and Macau through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. The programs must include a U.S. element or connection with American experts, organizations, or institutions to promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives and build partnerships.

Grant Details
Priority program areas include support for STEAM-related activities, promotion of English language acquisition, economic empowerment with a priority for under-represented communities, increasing public awareness about the environment, sustainability, climate change, and conservation efforts, as well as facilitating academic and cultural engagements that highlight American expertise, experience, values, and universal human rights. The PAS Grants Program projects may include academic, cultural, civil society/NGO, and professional lectures, seminars, workshops, exchanges and/or speaker programs that present American society, culture or history.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include registered not-for-profit organizations, individuals, non-profit or governmental educational institutions, and governmental institutions from the United States, Hong Kong, and Macau. For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply. Applicants are encouraged to include elements of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in their proposals.

Period of Performance
The length of performance period is 12 months with awards ranging from a minimum of $3,000 to a maximum of $50,000. The total available funding is $300,000 with proposals accepted on a rolling basis throughout the fiscal year.
