Description

The Census Bureau (BOC) is soliciting applications from eligible applicants to support research that improves measurement of the U.S. population and economy by identifying, evaluating, and assessing the options to expand the population coverage of a production system for record linkage and entity resolution, and to improve the quality of linkages. This includes procedures for application to populations of humans, households, businesses, and other entities.

There are two program priorities under this announcement: (1) Improvement of Methodology

Related to Record Linkage, Entity Resolution and Evaluation Thereof; and (2) Development and

Improvement of the Technology for Entity Resolution and Record Linkage. The two priorities

should proceed simultaneously and do not require the recipient to perform both. Please refer to

Section I. Program Description under this Notice of Funding Opportunity for more information

regarding each priority.

Grant Details
There are two program priorities under this announcement: (1) Improvement of Methodology Related to Record Linkage, Entity Resolution and Evaluation Thereof; and (2) Development and Improvement of the Technology for Entity Resolution and Record Linkage. Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education and non-profit organizations. Applications from individuals, federal agencies, employees of federal agencies, for-profit organizations, and state, local, and Indian tribal governments will not be considered.

Period of Performance
The announcement is for multi-year project(s) not to exceed a five-year period with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2021 unless otherwise directed.

Grant Value
The total funding amount available under this announcement for Priority 1 is estimated to be approximately $250,000 for the initial year for multi-year award project(s) that are not to exceed five (5) years for the project life cycle. The total funding amount available under this announcement for Priority 2 is estimated to be approximately $800,000 for the initial year for multi-year award project(s) that are not to exceed five (5) years for the project life cycle.
