The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), Office of Population Affairs (OPA) announces the anticipated availability of funds for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 under the authority of Section 241 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 238j) and Division H, Title II of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022 (Public Law No. 117-103). OASH's primary focus is leading America to healthier lives, especially for those who are most vulnerable. In support of this vision, OPA promotes health across the reproductive lifespan through innovative, evidence-based adolescent health and family planning programs, services, strategic partnerships, evaluation, and research. Research supporting the TPP Program is designed to give youth the information and skills to prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and teen pregnancy across the United States, especially for the most vulnerable, including those who have suffered historic disparities.

Grant Details
The Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Evaluation and Research Grants Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) aims to support evaluation and research projects that explore new questions in teen pregnancy prevention, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, and family planning more broadly that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of these programs for adolescents or young adults, and/or reduce existing disparities. The grants are for projects that can be conducted within one or two years, such as secondary data analyses using existing program and evaluation data or administrative data.
Priority areas include:
- Identifying factors that improve the quality, access, and equity of teen pregnancy prevention and adolescent sexual and reproductive health programs for adolescents or young adults
- Identifying core program components essential for teen pregnancy prevention programs
- Exploring impacts of making adaptations to evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs
- Exploring collective impact or multidisciplinary collaboratives at the state or community level as an innovative strategy for increasing impact on adolescent sexual and reproductive health outcomes
- Scaling and conducting testing of emerging adolescent sexual health innovations in order to generate early data and prepare for future rigorous impact evaluation.

Eligibility Requirements
Any public or private nonprofit entity located in a State is eligible to apply for a grant under this announcement. Faith-based organizations and American Indian/Alaska Native/Native American (AI/AN/NA) organizations are also eligible to apply. Examples of eligible applicants include:
- State Governments
- U.S. territories
- County Governments
- City or township governments
- Special district governments
- Independent school districts
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
- Public Housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
- Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments)
- Nonprofits having 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits without 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Non-profit private institutions of higher education.

Period of Performance
The period of performance is not to exceed 2 years with an anticipated start date on September 1, 2022.

Grant Value
$1,000,000 is estimated to be available for competition with up to 8 anticipated awards. The range of individual awards is $100,000-$400,000 per budget period.
