Background
The Solid Waste Management Grants Program is administered by the Rural Utilities Service (RUS), part of the Rural Development mission area of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The program aims to assist rural communities by providing grant funding to qualified organizations that offer technical assistance and training to reduce or eliminate pollution of water resources and improve solid waste site management.

This initiative addresses critical issues such as contamination from emerging pollutants like PFAS and enhances disaster resilience in rural areas.
