Background
The National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is issuing a non-competitive funding opportunity to support a single award for the National Centralized Repository for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (NCRAD) at Indiana University Indianapolis.

The goal of this funding is to enhance biomedical, social, and behavioral research related to aging and associated diseases.

Grant Details
The NCRAD will serve as a centralized resource and repository for biological specimens related to Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related dementias (ADRD). Key tasks include:
- Maintaining and enhancing the NCRAD infrastructure;
- Providing biorepository management expertise;
- Ensuring standardization of biomarker assays;
- Coordinating biospecimen receipt, processing, storage, and distribution;
- Supporting projects with scientific expertise;
- Developing biospecimen protocols;
- Maintaining a user-friendly website;
- Tracking usage statistics;
- Ensuring compliance with Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs).

The NCRAD will also adapt to the evolving needs of research on AD and related neurodegenerative diseases.

Eligibility Requirements
Only Indiana University Indianapolis is eligible to apply for this single source funding opportunity. Foreign organizations are not eligible.

Period of Performance
The maximum project period is five years, with an anticipated start date in March 2026.

Grant Value
NIA intends to commit $14.77 million in FY 2026 to fund one award, with direct costs not exceeding $9.23 million per year.
