Description

The objective of the Molecular Atlas of Lung Development (LungMAP) program is to build a comprehensive molecular and cellular atlas of the human lung to serve as a reference platform to better understand both normal biology and disease pathobiology, and to identify critical cellular components, molecular pathways, and novel therapeutic targets in lung disease. LungMAP is an open access resource integrating multi-scale, high-content, high-resolution information to define lung cells with gene expression, physiological states, 3-dimensional locations, as well as developmental and pathological trajectories.
Background
The Molecular Atlas of Lung Development (LungMAP) program aims to build a comprehensive molecular and cellular atlas of the human lung to serve as a reference platform. This will help in better understanding both normal biology and disease pathobiology, and to identify critical cellular components, molecular pathways, and novel therapeutic targets in lung disease. The program is an open access resource integrating multi-scale, high-content, high-resolution information. It defines lung cells with gene expression, physiological states, 3-dimensional locations, as well as developmental and pathological trajectories.

Grant Details
The Data Coordinating Center (DCC) is expected to perform data collection, harmonization, integration, and analysis. It will also develop and maintain the LungMAP databases, data portals, and website. Additionally, it will coordinate research activities of the LungMAP teams and promote dissemination of LungMAP resources to the community. The DCC will facilitate and coordinate data collection, submission, annotation, and integration; harmonize, integrate, and analyze multimodal datasets; develop tools for data management, analysis, and visualization; develop novel data science approaches to facilitate data-mining to better understand disease mechanisms; create the molecular atlas of the lung; coordinate and manage the overall LungMAP consortium administrative activities; enable open accessibility of all LungMAP resources to the broader research community.

Eligibility Requirements
The single source funding opportunity is intended for Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Only a single award will be issued under this funding opportunity.
