The purpose of the RRTCs, which are funded through the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program, is to achieve the goals of, and improve the effectiveness of, services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act through well-designed research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in important topical areas as specified by NIDILRR. These activities are designed to benefit people with disabilities, family members, rehabilitation service providers, policymakers and other research stakeholders. This particular opportunity is for an RRTC is to generate new knowledge about effective employer practices that support successful employment outcomes among people with disabilities.

Background
The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) on Employer Practices Leading to Successful Employment Outcomes Among People With Disabilities is funded through the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program, authorized under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The purpose of the RRTC is to achieve the goals of, and improve the effectiveness of, services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act through well-designed research, training, technical assistance, and dissemination activities in important topical areas as specified by NIDILRR. These activities are designed to benefit rehabilitation service providers, people with disabilities, family members, policymakers, and other research stakeholders.

Grant Details
The RRTC aims to generate new knowledge about employer practices that effectively support hiring, retention, and advancement of employees with disabilities. The RRTC must conduct research toward effective employer practices for hiring, retention, and advancement of employees with disabilities. It should also develop valid and reliable measures of employee- and employer-level outcomes of employer practices for hiring, retention, and advancement of people with disabilities.

The RRTC must include people from racial and ethnic minority backgrounds in study samples in sufficient numbers to generate knowledge relevant to the diversity of the population of people with disabilities being studied. Additionally, it should identify and involve key stakeholders in the research and research planning activities to maximize the relevance and usefulness of the research products being developed.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include states; public or private agencies; public or private organizations; Indian tribes and tribal organizations. Individuals, foreign entities, and sole proprietorship organizations are not eligible to compete for or receive awards under this announcement.

Period of Performance
The project period is 60 months with five 12-month budget periods.

Grant Value
$875,000 is the estimated total funding for one award. The award ceiling is $875,000 per budget period with an award floor of $870,000 per budget period.
