Refugee Career Pathways Program

Background
The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is providing funding for the Refugee Career Pathways (RCP) program. The primary goal of the RCP program is to enable refugees and other eligible populations to achieve self-sufficiency by obtaining professional or skilled employment, drawing upon previously acquired knowledge, skills, and experience.

Grant Details
The RCP program aims to assist participants in learning about career pathways and developing individualized plans to gain employment and advance within their chosen career field. Allowable activities include case management, training and technical assistance, specialized English language training, mentoring, and federal financial assistance for costs related to the establishment or re-establishment of credentials. RCP programs must have a partnership with at least one educational institution to facilitate career opportunities in ways that supplement existing services. The total estimated program funding is $5 million, with 15 expected awards ranging from $250,000 to $325,000 for a 36-month period of performance.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include public and private nonprofit organizations. Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are also eligible. Applicants must include a letter of support from a required partner, which is an educational institution such as a university, college, or vocational training center. Eligible participants for the RCP Program must be refugees or other eligible populations who are not U.S. citizens and have been eligible for ORR services for five years or less when they enroll.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for the grant is 36 months with three 12-month budget periods.

The total estimated program funding is $5 million with 15 expected awards ranging from $250,000 to $325,000 for the first budget period.
