Public Supply Chain Madagascar USAID MAHENIKA

Background
The MAHENIKA is a $45 million award spanning five years from 2024-2029, managed by the Health Population and Nutrition office under a Cooperative agreement. It aims to distribute USG-funded health programs, including Maternal and Child Health (MCH), malaria, and family planning (FP) commodities, and technical assistance for public supply chain system strengthening from the central level to the last mile distribution. The activity aims to strengthen Madagascar’s technical capacity and efforts to achieve an integrated public health supply chain which increases the availability of quality health commodities for the population in accordance with national policies, standards, and procedures.

Grant Details
The grant opportunity is authorized under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961. The resulting award will be subject to 2 CFR 200 – Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards, and USAID’s supplement, 2 CFR 700. The grant includes support for community-based distribution of socially-marketed commodities, reinforcement of the management of the public supply chain at the district level, clinical training for health providers at various levels in MNCH, nutrition, family planning, and malaria programming. It also emphasizes investing in system strengthening interventions in critical sectors to improve health and citizen resilience.
