PRIA 5 Training Development

Background
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing a funding opportunity under the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act (PRIA) to enhance the training for pesticide registrants on regulatory procedures. The mission of this initiative is to improve the efficiency, clarity, and consistency of EPA's pesticide registration and review processes. Grant Details
The tasks/services to be completed under this grant include:

1) Updating existing training materials and developing new ones to meet PRIA 5 provisions, including written documents, manuals, handbooks, video presentations, and online courses.

2) Developing training workshops and webinars that may include in-person and online formats, hands-on training, and field/lab tours.

3) Supporting the delivery of training by providing technical support for webinars/workshops, scheduling events, developing agendas, identifying presenters, and delivering presentations.

4) Identifying agricultural field opportunities for EPA crop tours through gap analysis.

Outputs expected from these activities include the development of new training tools/materials, delivery of education/training sessions, and identification of new areas for crop tours.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include land grant colleges and universities, non-land grant colleges of agriculture, and 1994 Institutions as defined in relevant legislation. Applications must not exceed a performance period of two years or request more than $200,000 in total funding. Only one application per organization is allowed.

Period of Performance
The project is expected to have a performance period of two years with an anticipated start date following the award notification in July 2026.

Grant Value
The total value of the grant is up to $200,000 with potential individual awards of up to $100,000 per year over two years.

Place of Performance
The specific geographic locations for performance are likely to involve agricultural areas relevant to pesticide registration.
