Background
The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) is issuing a grant opportunity aimed at improving services and results for children with disabilities. The program's purpose is to promote academic achievement and enhance outcomes for children with disabilities through technical assistance (TA), model demonstration projects, dissemination of information, and activities supported by scientifically based research.

The initiative also includes a Demonstration and Training program to provide competitive grants to eligible entities to expand vocational rehabilitation (VR) services under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Grant Details
The grant will focus on establishing a National Technical Assistance Center on Transition for Students and Youth with Disabilities. Key tasks include:
1) Providing TA to State Educational Agencies (SEAs), Local Educational Agencies (LEAs), and VR agencies;
2) Supporting the implementation of effective practices and strategies for students with disabilities;
3) Enhancing collaboration among educational institutions, families, and service providers;
4) Addressing training needs identified by SEAs, LEAs, and VR agencies;
5) Developing high-quality products and services that are accessible;
6) Conducting evaluations to measure project effectiveness;
7) Disseminating information widely to ensure accessibility of resources.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include public or nonprofit agencies or organizations, Indian Tribes or Tribal organizations, and for-profit organizations. SEAs, State lead agencies under Part C of the IDEA, State VR agencies, LEAs (including public charter schools), IHEs, and community rehabilitation programs are also eligible.

Period of Performance
The project period may last up to 60 months.

Grant Value
The estimated available funds total $4,099,988, with a maximum award not exceeding $4,099,998 for a single budget period of 12 months.

Place of Performance
The grant activities will primarily take place in Washington, DC during required meetings and conferences.
