Eligible applicants are public or nonprofit institutions of higher learning and public or nonprofit agencies and organizations knowledgeable and experienced in the field of Indian tribal affairs and child welfare (Sections 426(a)(1)(A) and 476(c)(2)(C) of the Social Security Act). Collaborative efforts and interdisciplinary approaches are acceptable. Applications from collaborations must identify a primary applicant responsible for administering the cooperative agreement. The terms "Indian," "Indian tribe," and "tribal organization" used in this announcement are defined under the Indian Self-Determination and Education Act (25 U.S.C. 450b). Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement. Applications from individuals (including sole proprietorships) and foreign entities are not eligible and will be disqualified from competitive review and from funding under this announcement.
