This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) invites applications for a National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) whose purpose is to serve NIA and the Alzheimer's disease and Alzheimer's disease-related dementias (AD/ADRD) field as: 1) A national data resource, collecting data from the Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers (ADRCs), affiliated data, and sample repositories; 2) A facilitator of current and future AD/ADRD research; and 3) The central hub for organizing and enabling communication within and outside the ADRC program, including annual meetings and steering committees.

Background
The National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) is funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) under the Department of Health and Human Services. Established in 1999, NACC serves as a national data resource for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) research, facilitating collaboration among Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers (ADRCs). The program aims to enhance understanding of aging and AD/ADRD through data collection, research facilitation, and communication within the ADRC network.

Grant Details
The NACC will undertake several key tasks:

1) Collect and manage data from ADRCs and affiliated repositories;

2) Facilitate current and future AD/ADRD research;

3) Serve as a communication hub for the ADRC program, organizing annual meetings and steering committees.

The NACC will consist of three teams:

- Administrative Team: This team will support meetings, outreach activities, maintain a user-friendly web interface for data access, track website usage, manage communications, and support Early Career Investigator projects.

- Database and Computing Team: This team will ensure data quality and accessibility, implement modern database structures, support digital biomarker data collection, manage neuroimaging data integration, and enhance data harmonization with other NIA-funded programs.

- Research and Consulting Team: This team will promote research using NACC data, standardize data collection processes across ADRCs, provide consultation to researchers, and deliver monthly reports to ADRCs.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include higher education institutions (public/private), nonprofits (with or without 501(c)(3) status), for-profit organizations (including small businesses), local/state governments, tribal governments (federally recognized or not), independent school districts, public housing authorities, faith-based organizations, regional organizations. Foreign organizations are not eligible to apply.

Period of Performance
The project period is five years.

Grant Value
NIH intends to commit $16.56 million in fiscal year 2026 to fund one award with an application budget limited to $10.35 million in direct costs per year.

Place of Performance
The grant activities are expected to be performed at various locations across the United States where ADRCs are situated.
