Mission South Africa American Spaces Network Management

Background
The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Mission to South Africa is seeking organizations to implement programming and outreach for its American Spaces Network. The network connects South African audiences to American people, institutions, history, culture, and ideals at its eight American Spaces across South Africa.

Grant Details
The selected partner organization must collaborate with stakeholders and coordinate ongoing activities. Additionally, they should add value through the inclusion of additional concepts, audiences, and participants. Logistical and financial management capabilities and a focus on innovative approaches will be critical components of a successful proposal. All programs and activities must involve the sharing of substantive American content with South Africans and must address one or more of the Six Pillars of the American Spaces program.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations, as well as public and private non-profit educational institutions. For-profit entities are not eligible to apply for funding under this announcement.

Period of Performance
The length of the performance period is from September 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, totaling 13 months. Cost and time extensions may be possible depending on circumstances.

Grant Value
The total expected funds for this grant opportunity are $125,000. The anticipated award amount is also up to $125,000.

Place of Performance
Project activities must take place in South Africa and be directed at South African audiences/participants. The grantee will occasionally work with the U.S. Mission to South Africa to share programs with American Spaces in other southern African countries.
