Background
The U.S. Embassy Tirana of the U.S. Department of State is offering funding for the Media Training Program (Investigative Stories Clearinghouse) to create a publishing platform for investigative news stories and an editorial board for journalists to pitch investigative stories that could counter corruption or increase accountability.

Grant Details
The program aims to increase the skills of Albanian journalism students and journalists to write independent, well-researched stories that contribute to greater transparency and accountability by public authorities. It also seeks to provide platforms where Albanian journalism students and journalists can contribute to independent investigations free from political or economic influence, offer journalism training that follows U.S./Western professional standards and ethics, and increase the watchdog role of Albanian media by improving their skillset.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include Albanian not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations. U.S. organizations and individuals are not eligible for grants under the program.

Period of Performance
The length of the performance period is 18 months, with an anticipated program start date in July 2024, dependent on funding availability.
