Description

NIGMS will support innovative educational activities designed to equip participants with technical, operational, or professional skills required for careers in the biomedical research workforce. Activities must be open to the broader biomedical research community and may focus on participants at one or more career stages from undergraduates to professionals (for example faculty, staff scientists). Funded programs will have a robust program leadership structure, participant recruitment plan, and evaluation and dissemination plans.
Background
The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) under the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is offering the grant opportunity titled 'Innovative Programs to Enhance Research Training (IPERT) (R25 Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed).' Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include higher education institutions, nonprofits, local governments, state governments, federal governments, U.S. territories or possessions, and other specified organizations. Foreign organizations are not eligible to apply. The sponsoring institution must assure support for the proposed program.

Period of Performance
The project period is limited to a maximum of 5 years. The earliest start date for applications is October 17, 2024. All applications are due by 5:00 PM local time of applicant organization.

Grant Value
Application budgets should reflect the actual needs of the proposed project and are limited to $500,000 per year in direct costs. The number of awards is contingent upon NIH appropriations and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
