Background
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Division of Education Programs is accepting applications for the five Humanities Initiatives programs. These programs strengthen the teaching and study of the humanities at institutions of higher education by developing new or enhancing existing programs, resources (including those in digital format), or courses that explore, interpret, and preserve the diversity of human cultures, ideas, and practices, past and present.

Grant Details
The purpose of this grant is to solicit applications for the five Humanities Initiatives programs: Humanities Initiatives at Colleges and Universities, Humanities Initiatives at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Humanities Initiatives at Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Humanities Initiatives at Tribal Colleges and Universities, and Humanities Initiatives at Community Colleges. The programs aim to strengthen the teaching and study of humanities by developing new or enhancing existing programs, resources, or courses that explore, interpret, and preserve the diversity of human cultures. Projects must address a core topic or set of themes drawn from humanities areas such as history, philosophy, religion, literature, or humanities-informed composition and writing skills. The grant supports activities such as curriculum development, student enrichment, faculty development, and partnerships. Each program has distinct eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Requirements
The eligible applicants for this grant are U.S.-accredited public or 501(c)(3) private institutions of higher education. Each of the five programs has distinct eligibility criteria as outlined in the document.

Period of Performance
The projects must start between February 1, 2025, and September 1, 2025. The period of performance for each project must be between one to three years.
