The purpose of the RCE Program is to provide funding for highway-rail and pathway-rail grade crossing improvement projects that focus on improving the safety and mobility of people and goods.

Grant Details
The RCE Program provides a federal funding opportunity to fund highway-rail or pathway-rail grade crossing improvement projects. Eligible project types include grade separation or closure, track relocation, installation or improvement of protective devices, signals, signs, or other measures to improve safety, and other means to improve the safety and mobility of people and goods at highway-rail grade crossings. The total funding available for awards under this NOFO is up to $1,148,809,580. The deadline for applications is no later than 11:59 p.m. EST, September 23, 2024.
