Grant Details
The purpose of this funding opportunity is to support the proliferation of appropriate, acceptable, and effective emergency and transitional housing and supportive services for older adults, including those with disabilities, who are experiencing abuse, neglect and/or exploitation. The program announcement plans to award up to five (5) cooperative agreements, ranging from $350,000 - $500,000 per year for a 24-month project period.

The funded projects are expected to improve knowledge of elder shelter models that are successful in providing emergency shelter/transitional housing to older adults. They will also provide appropriate supportive services and transition older adults from emergency housing back to stable housing of their choice. Additionally, they will identify mechanisms that contribute to effective elder shelter models and understand optimal methods for determining and measuring which services produce better outcomes for older adults who have experienced abuse, neglect and/or exploitation.
