Fiscal Year 2026 Expanding Nutrition Services

Background
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Expanding Nutrition Services (ENS) funding is issued by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) through the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC). The mission of this grant is to support HRSA-funded health centers in increasing access to nutrition services, which are essential for preventing, managing, and treating diseases through nutritional and food-based interventions. Grant Details
The ENS funding will support health centers to increase access to nutrition services that may include nutritional assessments, patient education and counseling on healthy eating, Medical Nutrition Therapy, weight management programs, and connections to food resources. Successful delivery may require patient support services such as case management and outreach. Health centers must propose to increase the number of nutrition service patients or visits and add nutrition services to their project scope within 120 days of award if not already providing them. All proposed activities must align with applicable laws. The expected total available funding for FY 2026 is $125 million with an anticipated 357 grants awarded. Each grant can range up to $350,000 annually over a two-year performance period from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2028.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include domestic organizations that are Health Center Program award recipients with an active H80 award under section 330(e) of the Public Health Service Act. Individuals are not eligible applicants under this NOFO. Applicants must submit only one application; multiple submissions will result in only the last on-time submission being considered.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this grant spans two years from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2028.
