Background
The fiscal year 2025 (FY25) Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program (PRCRP) Impact Award is issued by the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) under the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The program aims to support mature research that will have a near-term impact on clinical cancer care, particularly in congressionally directed topic areas relevant to the Military Health System (MHS).

The PRCRP was initiated by Congress in 2009 to fund high-impact research with exceptional scientific merit, with a total appropriation of $130 million for FY25.

Grant Details
The Impact Award supports high-impact and translational research that can accelerate promising findings toward clinical applicability. Key features include:
- Applications must include preliminary data to support the feasibility of the study.
- Projects must demonstrate strong potential for near-term impact on cancer care.
- The funding mechanism allows for clinical trials and includes options for a single Principal Investigator (PI) or two partnering PIs. Only the Initiating PI submits a pre-application, while both PIs submit full applications. If either application is rejected, both may be withdrawn.
- The maximum period of performance is 3 years.
- Funding limits are set as total cost limits, combining direct and indirect costs: $1.4 million for single PI applications and $1.75 million for Partnering PI applications.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include extramural and intramural organizations, both domestic and foreign, including for-profit and nonprofit entities. Principal Investigators must be independent investigators at or above the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent. There are no cost-sharing requirements.

Period of Performance
The maximum period of performance for the grant is 3 years.

Grant Value
Approximately $28 million is expected to fund around 20 Impact Award applications with total cost caps of $1.4 million each, and approximately $17.5 million for about 10 Partnering PI option applications with total cost caps of $1.75 million each.

Place of Performance
The grant will be performed within the context of military health systems.
