The purpose of the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) is to plan and conduct research, demonstration projects, training, and related activities, including international activities, to develop methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and integration into society, employment, independent living, family support, and economic and social self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities, especially individuals with disabilities who have the greatest support needs, and to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Rehabilitation Act). Under this particular DRRP priority, the grantee must conduct research toward maternal health services or interventions to improve pregnancy outcomes among women with long-term disabilities. NIDILRR plans to make one award under this opportunity in FY 2024. The grant will have a 60-month project period, with five 12-month budget periods.

Grant Details
The priority for this grant is to conduct research in areas such as technology to improve pregnancy experiences, individual and environmental factors associated with improved pregnancy experiences, interventions designed to contribute to improved pregnancy experiences, effects of government policies and programs on pregnancy experiences, and practices and policies that contribute to improved pregnancy experiences. The grantee must focus on a specific stage(s) of research including exploration and discovery, intervention development, intervention efficacy, and scale-up evaluation. The grant also requires knowledge translation activities to facilitate stakeholder use of the knowledge, interventions, programs, technologies, or products that result from the research activities. Additionally, the involvement of people with disabilities and other key stakeholder groups in the design and conduct of research activities is required.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include states; public or private agencies; public or private organizations; Indian tribes and tribal organizations; institutions of higher education (IHEs). There is no cost sharing or matching requirement for this grant. Applicants must propose a DRRP grant that is responsive to each of the requirements in the priority section of this funding opportunity announcement.

The grant will have a 60-month project period with five 12-month budget periods.

$500,000 is the estimated total funding for one award under this opportunity. The award ceiling is $500,000 per budget period with an award floor of $495,000 per budget period.
