The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Office of Digital Humanities is accepting applications for the Digital Humanities Advancement Grants program. The program supports innovative, experimental, and/or computationally challenging digital projects leading to work that can scale to enhance scholarly research, teaching, and public programming in the humanities.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Office of Digital Humanities is accepting applications for the Digital Humanities Advancement Grants program. The program supports innovative, experimental, and/or computationally challenging digital projects leading to work that can scale to enhance scholarly research, teaching, and public programming in the humanities.

Grant Details
The DHAG program supports projects at different phases of their lifecycles that respond to one or more of these programmatic priorities: research and refinement of innovative, experimental, or computationally challenging methods and techniques; enhancement or design of digital infrastructure that contributes to and supports the humanities; evaluative studies that investigate the practices and the impact of digital scholarship on research, pedagogy, scholarly communication, and public engagement. Awards are available at three funding levels: Level I (up to $75,000 and up to 24 months), Level II ($75,001 to $150,000 and up to 24 months), and Level III ($150,001 to $350,000 and up to 36 months).

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; accredited institutions of higher education (public or nonprofit); state and local governments and their agencies; federally recognized Native American Tribal governments.

Period of Performance
Level I awards have a period of performance up to 24 months; Level II awards have a period of performance up to 24 months; Level III awards have a period of performance up to 36 months. Projects must start between specific dates depending on the deadline applied for.

Grant Value
Approximately $2,200,000 per deadline with approximately 10-15 grants per deadline. Award amounts range from up to $75,000 for Level I, $75,001 to $150,000 for Level II, and $150,001 to $350,000 for Level III. Level III applicants may request an additional $50,000 per project in federal matching funds (for a total award of up to $400,000).
