The U.S. Embassy Tirana of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit proposals for funding under the Democracy Commission program. Please follow all instructions below.

Background
The U.S. Embassy Tirana of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit proposals for funding under the Democracy Commission program. The priority region for this grant is Albania, and eligible program topics include Anti-Corruption, Good Governance, Cyber-security, Human Rights/Minority Rights, Reforms, Women’s Empowerment, Youth Activism, Environment/Climate change, Combatting Human Trafficking, and Investigative Journalism.

Grant Details
The length of the performance period is 6 to 12 months with an anticipated program start date in June-July 2024. The total available funding is dependent on funding available and awards may range from a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $24,000. The type of funding is Assistance funds (AEECA - Assistance for Europe, Eurasia, and Central Asia). Proposed programs should be completed within a year from the starting date determined in the grant contract.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include Albanian not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations. U.S. organizations and individuals are NOT eligible for grants under the program. Organizations must have a valid registration on www.SAM.gov to be eligible to receive an award.

Period of Performance
The length of the performance period is 6 to 12 months with an anticipated program start date in June-July 2024.
Proposed programs should be completed within a year from the starting date determined in the grant contract.

Grant Value
The total available funding is dependent on funding available and awards may range from a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $24,000.

Place of Performance
Award funds can be used only for activities in Albania and for payments only to Albanian citizens/organizations.
