The US Geological Survey is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner to leverage the expertise and infrastructure to support and accelerate data collection and research on the impacts of climate on species range shifts in the North Central CASC.

Grant Details
This opportunity will focus on collecting data and supporting research with the recipient focusing on protected area management and species range shifts driven by climate-change. To advance the research agenda on the future of species range shifts in a changing climate, the recipient will develop species-specific assessments of climate connectivity and potential range shifts for a suite of management-relevant species within the NC CASC protected area network including national forests and the unprotected matrix of federal, private, and tribal lands.

In addition, the CESU partner will contribute to the national synthesis effort on the cohort topic, impacts of climate change on species range shifts, and provide valuable expertise pertaining to the CESU partner’s region.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible recipients must be a participating partner of the Rocky Mountain Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program.

Period of Performance
It is anticipated that an award will be made for base year and one renewal year. The total estimated funding for this project is $ 351,776.99. Funding in the amount of $ 169,905.83 is estimated to be available for FY 2024.

Additional funding will be based upon satisfactory progress and the availability of funding.
