Cooperative Agreement for CESU-affiliated Partner with Colorado Plateau Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit

Background
The US Geological Survey’s National and Regional Climate Adaptation Science Center (NRCASC) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to support the project entitled “Synthesizing Species Range Shift in a Changing Climate at a National Scale”. The funding opportunity is to develop a national synthesis product related to the impacts of climate change on species range shifts. The recipient will work collaboratively with USGS to provide scientific leadership for this national-scale synthesis. This will also include a science report, which will synthesize the climate-mediated species movement.

Grant Details
The recipient is expected to lead the development of a science document on species range shifts prior to the national synthesis, lead the development of a national synthesis product, and provide subject matter expertise on the topic of species range shifts in the context of climate change. They are also required to provide input in conducting collaborative research synthesis efforts.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible recipients must be a participating partner of the Colorado Plateau Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU). Applicants with experience working in multidisciplinary collaborative research environments and expertise on climate-driven species range shifts are preferred.

Period of Performance
It is anticipated that an award will be made for two years. The total estimated funding for this project is $47,892.50, with $21,836.99 estimated for FY 2024 and $26,055.50 estimated for FY25.
