Climate Resilient Agricultural Market Systems Activity

Background
The United States Agency for International Development in Egypt (USAID/Egypt) is in the process of designing a new multiyear activity to increase the capacity, sustainable productivity, and incomes of key stakeholders in Egypt’s agriculture market systems. USAID has partnered with Egypt to enhance its agricultural sector for more than 40 years, investing more than $1.4 billion in U.S. assistance.

The purpose of a future USAID/Egypt agriculture activity will be to transform the agriculture and food system toward sustainable production, economic growth, and efficient climate resilience practices.

Grant Details
USAID/Egypt seeks to create a set of complementary activities that promote Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), improve the enabling environment for sustainable agriculture and food security, and enhance the capacity of Business Development Service (BDS) providers for Greater Inclusive Economic Growth.

The activity aims to strengthen Egypt’s agricultural market system, including the ability of farmers, enterprises, BDS providers, and organizations to expand their operations sustainably.

Eligibility Requirements
This is a Request for Information (RFI), providing public information to parties interested in USAID’s support in Egypt, and seeks to collect any information and suggestions about USAID’s planned programming. Information collected is intended to contribute to the Mission’s activity design and development for an intended future Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Application (RFA).
