USAID proposes to develop a new five-year activity entitled the Child Protection and Care (CPC) activity, to be implemented through one or more awards in Cambodia from 2025-2029. The purpose of the CPC activity is to strengthen the child protection and care system in Cambodia so the most underserved and marginalized children can thrive in safe, loving, nurturing, and permanent family-based care with birth, kin, or local adoptive families.

Background
USAID proposes to develop a new five-year activity entitled the Child Protection and Care (CPC) activity, to be implemented through one or more awards in Cambodia from 2025-2029. The purpose of the CPC activity is to strengthen the child protection and care system in Cambodia so that the most underserved and marginalized children can thrive in safe, loving, nurturing, and permanent family-based care with birth, kin, or local adoptive families.

This initiative aligns with U.S. Government strategies aimed at enhancing child development and protection needs as part of foreign assistance programs.

Grant Details
The CPC activity will focus on several key tasks:
1) Strengthening families to prevent unnecessary separation and support reintegration;
2) Supporting the transition from residential care to family-based care;
3) Increasing availability of alternative family-based care options;
4) Providing immediate inclusive child protection and care support;
5) Enhancing community structures and services for children with disabilities;
6) Supporting young people leaving care to transition to independent living.

The activity will target children aged 0-17 years old and their families at risk of separation, as well as adolescents aged 15-29 who have grown up in residential care.
