The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to invite applications for the Centers for Research in Emerging Infectious Diseases (CREID) Network Coordination Center (CC). The CREID Network, comprised of all recipients under this NOFO and the companion NOFO [insert NOFO number here], serves to expand knowledge on re-emerging and emerging infectious diseases (re/EIDs) around the globe where outbreaks are most likely to occur while developing expertise, capacity, and readiness to address outbreak-related research. The CC will serve to advance, facilitate, and coordinate select scientific, data and resource management, communication, administrative, and leadership efforts during both outbreak and non-outbreak periods among the CREID Networks centers and stakeholders in a collaborative and cooperative fashion.
Background
The Centers for Research in Emerging Infectious Diseases (CREID) Network Coordination Center (CC) is a part of the CREID Network. The network aims to expand knowledge on re-emerging and emerging infectious diseases (re/EIDs) globally and develop expertise, capacity, and readiness to address outbreak-related research. The CC will lead, advance, facilitate, and coordinate critical and collaborative scientific data and resource management, communication, and administrative activities during both outbreak and non-outbreak periods among the CREID Network research centers in a coordinated, collaborative, and cooperative fashion. The CREID Network was established by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to address challenges in communication, coordination, and collaboration between unlinked investigators or networks during outbreak-related research efforts.

Grant Details
The CC will be responsible for overall coordination, communication, and outreach among the CREID Network's recipients and relevant interest holders. Its activities include organizing interoperability activities for the CREID Network, developing a public-facing website to provide information on the CREID Network and its resources, implementing a public outreach strategy, developing inventories of CREID Network capacities and scientific expertise development materials, leading data stewardship and sharing activities for the CREID Network, hosting scientific expertise development workshops and annual meetings, developing outbreak-related coordination strategies, leading engagements with relevant interest holders, coordinating resource management and sharing goals for the CREID Network, complementing existing NIAID pandemic preparedness efforts, engaging with other USG and international agencies conducting complementary studies/programs to identify synergies and opportunities to leverage existing resources.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include higher education institutions; public/state controlled institutions of higher education; private institutions of higher education; nonprofits with 501(c)(3) IRS status; for-profit organizations; small businesses; local governments; state governments; county governments; city or township governments; special district governments; Indian/Native American tribal governments (federally recognized); Indian/Native American tribal governments (other than federally recognized); eligible agencies of the federal government; U.S. territory or possession; independent school districts; public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments); faith-based or community-based organizations; regional organizations; foreign organizations.

Period of Performance
The project period must be 5 years in length.

Grant Value
NIAID intends to commit $2M in FY 2025 to fund 1 award. Application budgets are not expected to exceed $1,500,000 in direct costs per year.
