Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF)

Background
The U.S. Mission in Iraq is offering the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) 2024, which provides funding to alumni of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to design and implement innovative solutions to global challenges facing their community. The fund supports initiatives that advance the policy goals of the U.S. Mission to Iraq, including fostering stability and economic growth, bolstering democracy and governance, and ensuring Iraq’s sovereignty and security.

Grant Details
AEIF 2024 will accept public service projects proposed and managed by teams of at least two alumni that support themes such as women entrepreneurship, disability rights, climate change, English language training for youth and marginalized groups, youth capacity building on politics and governance, and youth capacity building on business and skills development. The program performance period is 12 months or less, with individual awards ranging between $5,000 to $35,000.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include alumni of U.S. government-funded or sponsored exchange programs. Project teams must include at least two alumni, who may be from different exchange programs and countries. Not-for-profit organizations, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, and academic institutions are not eligible to apply in the name of the organization but can serve as partners for implementing project activities.

Period of Performance
The proposed programs should be completed within 12 months or less.

Grant Value
The total amount available for AEIF 2024 is between $5,000 to $35,000 per individual award.

Place of Performance
All project activities must take place outside of the United States and its territories.
