2026 Congressionally Identified Construction Grant Program

Background
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking applications from Congressionally identified entities for extramural construction projects, to be funded in accordance with H.R. 6938, the 'Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026,' Public Law 119-74 (January 23, 2026).

The goal of this grant program is to expand and improve upon the scientific, technological, and educational capacity of the United States.

Grant Details
Projects awarded under this NOFO are anticipated to have a period of performance of no longer than 36 months.

Recipient construction schedules for all phases of the project (planning, design, procurement, construction, occupancy) must be provided in the application. Projects must adhere to the goals and objectives submitted to NIST and Congressional sponsoring offices.

Period of Performance
Projects may have a period of performance not exceeding five years under exigent circumstances approved by the NIST Grants Officer.
