2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Background
The U.S. Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina Public Diplomacy Section announces the 2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF), an annual funding opportunity designed to invest in U.S. government-funded exchange participants and programs. The goal of the AEIF is to help alumni develop and implement projects that promote shared interests and policy objectives, benefiting local communities.

All projects must celebrate Freedom 250, aligning with policy goals such as enhancing safety, prosperity, American excellence, and defending freedom of speech.

Grant Details
The AEIF supports projects that:
1) Convene alumni from different exchange programs to build or expand an alumni network for regional and global collaboration;
2) Strengthen relationships between alumni and the U.S. government to address shared goals;
3) Support alumni in developing leadership capacity and implementing impactful community projects.

The funding range for proposals is between $5,000 to $35,000, with a maximum of two awards anticipated. Projects should be completed within 12 months.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include:
- Alumni who participated in a U.S. government-sponsored exchange program involving at least two alumni, with one designated as team lead;
- Alumni associations from countries with U.S. representation specifying an alumni team lead;
- Teams of three or more may include U.S. citizen alumni but must have at least two non-U.S. citizen alumni.

All organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) issued via SAM.gov.

Period of Performance
The performance period for the grant is expected to last for 12 months from the project start date, which is anticipated within 45 days of notification of funding approval.

Grant Value
The total available funding is yet to be determined, with individual grant awards ranging from $5,000 to $35,000.

Place of Performance
The grant will be performed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
