industry day notice for the Comprehensive Aircraft Readiness, Lifecycle, Engineering, and Support (CHARLES) procurement by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Johnson Space Center (JSC). The industry day event is scheduled to take place virtually on September 1, 2021, via Microsoft Teams.
The purpose of CHARLES is to provide support for various aircraft at different locations including Ellington Field in Houston, El Paso, Langley Research Center (LaRC) in Hampton, Goddard Space Flight Center in Wallops Island, and other domestic and foreign sites. The aircraft to be supported under CHARLES include NASA's T-38 fleet, WB-57F fleet, Gulfstream aircraft, Airbus Industries Super Guppy Transport, and others.
The goals of the industry day event are outlined as follows:
- Provide information on the current aircraft maintenance, logistics, integration, configuration management and engineering (ALICE) contract.
- Promote competition for the proposed CHARLES acquisition.
- Share NASA/JSC's vision and objectives related to the new acquisition.
- Allow industry input to improve the future Request for Proposal (RFP).
The event is open to all firms interested in contracting/subcontracting opportunities with CHARLES. One-on-one communication opportunities will be available for firms to engage with NASA personnel regarding the requirements under CHARLES and provide input related to the procurement. Registration for industry day and scheduling one-on-one appointments must be completed by August 27, 2021.
