NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER - CARDEROCK DIVISION
INDUSTRY DAY FOR ALTERATION INSTALLATION TEAM (AIT) REQUIREMENT
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) announces an Industry
Day for Alteration Installation Teams (AIT) support. This requirement involves the
purchase, storage, transportation and installation of modernization packages.
Government direction in the form of Boat Alterations (BOAT ALTs) and Liaison
Action Reports (LARs) detail the modernization efforts to be accomplished.
Installation of the modernization packages shall be conducted by Fly-Away teams who
shall accomplish installation pier-side at various military installations both
CONUS/OCONUS. The Fly-Away team(s) shall be comprised of individuals who possess
advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, structural systems and
Information Technology.
The contractor shall perform in a wide variety of locations both CONUS and OCONUS.
The expected work distribution by performance location is: Mid-Atlantic US (25%);
Southwest US (25%); Northeast US/Gulf Coast US/Northwest US/Other 10%, OCONUS
(40%). OCONUS locations typically include, but are not limited to; Bahrain,
Djibouti, Dubai, Greece, Guam, Italy, Japan, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Hawaii
and Alaska.
The government anticipates this requirement will be comprised of the following
three (3) functional task areas:
(1) Task A- Logistics/Material Support
Purchase, Kitting, Storage, Shipping/Transportation
(2) Task B- Alteration Installation
Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, structural systems,
Information Technology.
Knowledge of Boat Alterations (BOAT ALT) and Liaison Action Report (LAR)
installations and their interrelationship to one another.
(3) Task C- Prototype
Partnering of Government and industry to install new technologies and
systems.
Reconfiguration of craft layout and systems interface and networking to meet
modernization requirements.

particular requirement.
