Statement of Work Correct Tunnel Discrepancies Project No. 667-18-101 Overton Brooks VAMC, 510 E. Stoner Ave, Shreveport, LA has a requirement to correct discrepancies in the underground utility corridor tunnel from the sub-basement of the main hospital (Building 1) to the Boiler Plant (Building 3). This project shall correct the following discrepancies to include, but are not limited to, ground water infiltration, inadequate lighting, inferior finishes, failing utility support structures, deteriorated and inadequate insulation, asbestos and leaks in the various utilities present in the tunnel. The main steam line expansion joints and the high-pressure manifold valves shall be replaced and require a scheduled full steam outage. This project requires phasing and all utility interruptions shall be coordinated with the COR. All work performed shall be as determined within this scope of work, project drawings, and specifications. All work shall be performed as specified herein and shall be in accordance with all applicable codes indicated in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Design Manuals and any other applicable codes. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, licenses, permits, and services for completion of this project. The Contractor shall be responsible for all damages to persons or property occurring because of the Contractor’s fault or negligence. The Contractor shall be responsible for all materials delivered and work performed until completion and acceptance of the entire work. WORK HOURS Most of the work shall be accomplished between the hours of 7:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday (excluding federal holidays); however, the contractor may be required to accomplish some work after hours or on weekends to minimize disruption to hospital operations. All work shall be coordinated with the COR. ACCESS Access to the construction area shall be through the subbasement exterior mechanical room entrance (near loading dock) and through the scuttle hole in the boiler plant. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE The delivery date for this contract shall be 200 days from Notice to Proceed.
