Sep 2016: Ceradyne Inc., Costa Mesa, California, was awarded a $7,698,335 modification (P00016) to contract W91CRB-14-C-0005 to exercise the low-rate initial production contract line item option to procure 5,370 integrated head protection systems, a component of the Soldier Protection System.  Work will be performed in Costa Mesa, California, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 6, 2017.  Fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance, Army funds in the amount of $7,698,335 were obligated at the time of the award.  Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
