Government Description
MANNED/UNMANNED TACTICAL VEHICLE LAB PROJECT AT DETROIT ARSENAL IN WARREN, MI. THE WORK INVOLVES THE DESIGN/BID/BUILD CONSTRUCTION OF A NON-STANDARD, SINGLE-STORY BUILDING OF APPROXIMATELY 31,800 SF TO SUPPORT RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT, AND TESTING OF TANK, AUTOMOTIVE, AND OTHER GROUND TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT. THE FACILITY WILL INCLUDE HIGH AND LOWER BAY AREAS, LABORATORY SPACES WITH RESEARCH TEST BEDS AND BRIDGE CRANES, CONTROL AND OBSERVATION ROOMS, ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPACES, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIAL STORAGE, VEHICLE ACCESS AREAS, AND MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL/UTILITY SUPPORT SPACES INCLUDING HYDRAULIC, WATER, POWER, AND CONTROL WIRING ACCESS POINTS. SPECIAL FOUNDATIONS SUCH AS VIBRATION-ISOLATION SEISMIC MASS FOUNDATIONS AND SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT FLOORING, INSTALLATION OF AN INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM (IDS) AND ENERGY MONITORING CONTROL SYSTEMS (EMCS), AS WELL AS SUPPORTING SITE DEVELOPMENT, UTILITIES, PAVING, STORM DRAINAGE, LANDSCAPING, AND SIGNAGE ARE INCLUDED.
