Government Description
Noyes cut phase 2 - USACE - savannah district. The contractor will close one man-made cut in the salt marsh north of the satilla river in camden county, GA, as part of the noyes cut ecosystem restoration project, with the objective of increasing tidal exchange throughout the system, restoring salinity gradients to dover creek, and reducing shoaling in umbrella creek. Includes constructing a trapezoidal rubble mound-type structure approximately 495 feet long using gdot type I riprap, furnishing, stockpiling, and placing about 21,000 tons of rock, and installing AIDS to navigation at the closure location. All work will be conducted from floating platforms to minimize impacts to the marsh and wildlife, and any marsh damaged outside the established footprint will be restored by the contractor.
