Government Description
Granular fill from the stockpiles, main channel and access dredging, and fine fill materials from habitat dredging and access dredging will be used to complete structures. The contractor will provide riprap to protect the island. Includes construction of various size and shaped islands within the Mississippi river near lock and dam 10, guttenberg, IA, with bases constructed from granular fill and topped with fine fill obtained from access and habitat dredging. Islands will be planted with native grasses and willows, stabilized with rock structures such as groins and vanes, and several stand-alone rock features will be created.
